Steam For Linux Beta Survey Is Live

By - | Views: 10,835
Valve have just published their survey to gather participants for the upcoming 1,000 participant Steam for Linux beta.

The survey asks about the hardware, distros and window managers that users are running, as well as how long they have been using Linux for.

A reminder about the type of people they're after from the latest blog post:

QuoteFor existing Linux users, the external private beta is a good release for seeing where we are in running our games on Linux. We will be using a sign up page for the external beta. Information about the sign up will be announced in a future post.

For those new to Linux, we recommend waiting for a subsequent release where more features are implemented along with improvements to the user install experience.

Actually, the Valve guys had said in comments on the recent blog post that they wanted as broad a selection of hardware and software configurations as they could get. Perhaps that'll work in your favour ^_^

Sent mine in to. Thanks for the heads up.

Reading the comments in the steam group most people have quads and hexa core CPU's. There way more powerful then I ever had.

I just realized I've got a very weak and sub-par machine. Hopefully that qualifies me for it, since they want a huge range of machines.

Sent mine in, i hope they publish stats on how many people sign up for it that would be very interesting to see.

So why did Valve not update the Valve Linux Blog with this survey? It's been over a month since the last update.
Liam Dawe Nov 3, 2012
Who knows maybe now they proper groups are up on the website it will just be all done there?
FutureSuture Nov 3, 2012
It caused some confusion judging from what I have seen. They could have updated both as well as announced that the updates will move to the groups. Silly Valve!
