Steam's Linux client is coming to Linux!

By - | Views: 13,592

Well for a while now I have been following forum threads on different websites and news posts on Phoronix and it seems that a Linux client for Steam (Valve's game platform) will be coming to Linux!

This could be HUGE news for the Linux gaming community since Valve are the makers of the Source engine (Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, Portal etc). There are reports that the Source engine will also be coming with it!

We've needed a big company to push for Linux support, so hopefully this is the start of something bigger. Linux gaming sounds like it's about to get a lot more exciting.
