Sunday chat: What have you been playing, and what do you think?

By - | Views: 30,707
It's Sunday, I'm extremely tired after a long day and I've been coding away at the new PC Specifications feature for user profiles so I don't really have time to post up news articles tonight (it's getting late). So I ask you: What are you playing, and what do you think?

I've been playing Stellaris, and you will know what I think about it tomorrow! I've already sunk 5.3 hours into it according to Steam, blimey!

Apart from that I have been enjoying Tomb Raider up to the last fire-fight I was in where sadly the framerate went really bad and it became a struggle. I don't really want to play any more right now until they put out some form of performance patch as that last bit I did sadly soured it for me.

As for random news, we are aware the new Doom has been shown off running on Vulkan, I'm not going to give it a news article since it's not coming to Linux and really doesn't mean anything for us directly (you can stop sending it in now :P) Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: noinformationhereI finally played the Talos Principle. It started slowly and I was a bit sceptical at first, but it eventually showed why it got so many rave reviews. Very very clever. It has been compared to Portal, but it has a unique way of looking at things. Puzzles can be challenging but always fair.

I really wish I could discuss Talos Principle without spoiling it for people as the story is based on one of my favorite concepts. Definitely a favorite of mine.

EDIT:
QuoteThe Masquerade Bloodlines which was recently released on GOG

Shmerl, how do you get GOG games to launch on Debian? Do they need 32 bit libraries?

Tomb Raider and Darkest Dungeon.

Both were pretty awesome, but I got really hooked on Darkest Dungeon - first time in a while that's happened for me with a game.

This week has been all Tomb Raider. Yes, the performance isn't that great and I've actually played it before, on PS3, but I really enjoy the game.

Someone commented about the camere locking at certain points, I can see that it bothers some players but I suppose it's done to get a specific cinematic feel, and I actually like that kind of thing, so... It did work better when playing on console though. It feels a bit constricting when mouse look suddenly doesn't work. Especially as there are other glitches regarding mouse look, I sometimes can't look in the direction I want without physically moving the mouse, like you hit a border.

Steamroll (This is a nice puzzle game, and looks great with the UE4 engine too)
Transistor (Its gotta be experienced at least once)
Tomb Raider (Really enjoying this!)
