Tesseract A Brand New Open Source FPS Derived From Cube 2: Sauerbraten

Tesseract is a first-person shooter game focused on instagib deathmatch and capture-the-flag gameplay as well as cooperative in-game map editing.

Tesseract provides a unique open-source engine derived from Cube 2: Sauerbraten technology but with upgraded modern rendering techniques. The new rendering features include fully dynamic omnidirectional shadows, global illumination, HDR lighting, deferred shading, morphological/temporal/multisample anti-aliasing, and much more.

It sure does look good and I hope they continue with it, the character models especially look good and the map shown at the start is quite beautiful I thought.

What do you think guys?

I tested it out a bit and the performance seemed really fluid, I was especially happy that it uses SDL2, so the multi-monitor support is top!

I love the performance with it, where unity would be gasping for air this thing runs like a charm. And yeah I know that 770 should be able to handle a lot more than this; but really, good optimization something so rare recently I see potential here! - screen tearing is present as I turned off v-sync

I hope this game is like Section 8, if so that'll quench my need for a Halo style Linux FPS.

I love the editor, I'd love to see more of the weapons.

A game called Tesseract just got greenlit on steam. But it isn't the same game.
It's like portal. Made with unreal engine.
