You might remember my little preview of The Exiled [Steam, Official Site] back in December, well it seems the game is now officially out in Early Access on Steam.

I did find it quite interesting and it is pleasing to see Linux gain another MMO, as it's a genre we still lack good titles in.

It's free to play for the first 7 days, but then you need to buy one of the packs to continue playing. Their funding model seems okay, with it mainly being about getting a character and reserved name slot, with a few vanity items. The higher purchasable tiers allow you to gain fame faster to level up new characters more quickly, which again seems okay. It doesn't seem like there's any form of pay 2 win with no ability to buy weapons or anything like that.

If you do try it, be sure to come back to GOL and let us know what your experience was with the game. I'm downloading it on Steam now to see what's new since the closed beta and hopefully I will have some thoughts up soonish. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

The game starts up with a screen where I should confirm my email address account. Just does not accept mine... It says: "The email addresses need to match and must be valid."

I could not find reference if I have to register before log-in.

There is a chance that I'm doing something wrong though..

Wanted to try it while it was in alpha, launcher didn't work, didn't want to bother any further. Maybe it's more polished by now.
