It would be real news if they didn't do big sales, but still for those of you who never buy outside of Steam and are currently watching the pennies here's the dates to look for.
- Halloween Sale: October 29th 2018 to November 1st 2018
- Autumn Sale: November 21st 2018 to November 27th 2018
- Winter Sale: December 20th 2018 to January 3rd 2019
Perhaps one of these will be a good time to check out some cheap games from Windows-only developers for use in Steam Play?
There's still quite a few titles on my own personal wishlist I'm keeping an eye on, although a lot of them aren't actually released yet. Is there something you're desperate to try that you're waiting for a good price on? Do let us know in the comments.

+1. I'm supporting Linux games, not Windows games. And there's already too many good Linux games in my library I don't have time to play.

I just noticed a post in the Steam forum from a Windows user with a suspiciously similar issue, so I'll look into that too. To be honest, it's not a game I'm particularly bothered about; it just bugged me that it worked perfectly under vanilla Wine, but not with Proton.

While I currently do not have much I am looking to buy a big sale always has a way of separating me from my cash.
However, one thing that I know for sure is that despite Steam Play, I will not be spending a single penny on any title that is not linux native.
Despite proton sales and time in game being calculated as a linux purchase; it does not send the message that there is interest in the game from linux users... the clear message is that they can sell the game and make money without the need to develop a port.
WINE, Proton, DXVK are all wonderful technological achievements. I do think they help the linux community and can aid in making it grow. However, I think it is best used as a tool used to allow people to switch to linux and not leave their existing software library behind. Essentially, it can be a big investment that no one wants to lose by changing OS's.
While I know this can be a controversial topic for some, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I will not decry others for having a different viewpoint. However, I personally will only be using Proton to play games that I already have in my library from my past life in windows (which is quite a long time ago) and some things that I received as part of bundles.
There are plenty of good products out there for linux whose developers deserve our support... More than enough to satisfy even the most ravenous gamer... I have plenty of titles that I have yet to even play... No need to support people that will not support the platform I use.

Playing Wolfenstein New Order atm 1080p with everything maxed with 290X on Proton and it is butter-smooth! Got V-sync on and never goes below 60fps!!!

Fanatical have started their Halloween sale already. I was going to wait until Battletech came out of beta, but I might pick it up now through that.
In other sale news, right now Humble have a Warner Brothers bundle that gets you Shadow of Mordor for $1. That's pretty tempting. (I already have Bastion and Mad Max which are the only Linux games in the higher priced tiers.)

Liam, how about them easy "click to add event" calendar links with similar articles in the future? I'm personally interested in Google Calendar but folks would probably like Microsoft and Apple solutions covered as well.
