Valve continue pushing ahead with improvements to their Steam Play system with the most recent beta now being out for everyone.

Steam Play 3.7-7 is now the stable version, which includes:

  • Improvements to alt-tab and fullscreen behaviour in many games.
  • Fix mouse behaviour in some games and mice with high sample rates.
  • Update DXVK to v0.80.

If it doesn't show up for you, restart Steam. Hopefully in future the stable updates won't require this, I imagine an improved update flow will be worked on eventually although it's not much hassle to quickly restart Steam.

Additionally, there's a very minor 3.7-8 beta available which only notes that it has "Minor compatibility fixes in preparation for future Proton versions.". While minor, the wording has piqued my interest to see what they're going to be doing.

Also, if you missed it, Valve recently expanded the whitelist too.

Interesting, I have absolutely no issue with alt-tab in TW3.

Probably a bug on Gnome, while using Mate, Cinnamon and Plasma I haven't experienced any issue with alt-tab, but using Gnome It's worse, but still I could do alt-tab, though I haven't tested with the new version of Proton.

EDIT: I saw he is using XFCE, but I haven't tested with it.

I noticed that all my "Windows" games had a minor update of 300MB. Obviously unrelated to the game itself as most of those were released years ago! :D

I almost dropped a tear when I saw a update on Stalker SOC! haha

can some one test Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 or the series
they work on lutris please check and see if they work on Proton 3.7.8

Tried a few games with 3.7-8: "Gray Matter" and "Sleeping Dogs" (original edition) still won't start. "Fallout 3 GotY" still gives me blackscreen with a cursor. However, "Alan Wake" starts again, I don't think it has worked since one of the first Proton versions, it also has music in the main menu for the first time.

For me, only Codename Gordon got a 343M update, but it still doesn't work. :-(

I wonder the purpose of the Track prefix files feature.

I guess Proton will have several versions of WINe and will run the more appropriate for each game...

Hopefully, because once a game works perfect for me with (for example) 3.7-3 I don't see a point in updating it risking breakage.
