There's a brand new Humble Bundle with almost all the games on Linux, oh my

By - | Views: 48,029

That's right, Humble Bundle is back in force with a bundle full of Linux games, but, err...it might be a bit full of anime boobs.

Introducing, the Humble Hunie Sakura Bundle. Yes, this really is a thing.

For a massive $1 or more, you will be granted:

HunieCam Studio, Sakura Agent (Humble has a Linux icon, Steam does not), Sakura Fantasy, Sakura Beach, Sakura Beach 2, Sakura Angels and Sakura Spirit.

Then if you splurge the cash for more than the average payment you get:

HuniePop, Sakura Swim Club, Sakura Nova, Sakura Space, Sakura Shrine Girls (has a Linux version, but Humble forgot the Linux icon), Sakura Magical Girls and Sakura Santa.

Then to top it all off, if you pay $10 you get:

Sakura Dungeon

I'll be honest, I stay well away from such games for fear of a) getting slightly aroused and then b) having to question my life choices. Although, they've already made over $88K with this bundle, am I really missing something?

Wow, they will literally bundle anything up now, huh? Wake me up when they do a Humble Indie Bundle, as that sure would be damn nice.

Thanks to Ethan Lee's tweet for pointing it out and getting my hopes up.

To get back on topic, since I ended up getting the bundle anyway, is there any one of these games that anyone can recommend from a gameplay/story perspective? I have no issue with any sexualised content, but I do want to play something that has either a decent story or good gameplay, not something that just has "some other purpose".

Quoting: elmapuli want to buy this games, but i'm not sure if any girl will want to be my girl friend knowing that i have such games on steam xD.
(well some fujoshis will not mind)

Well as a game collector I accidentally got My Ex-Boyfriend the Space Tyrant without me knowing and I was using ASF Bot to get the steam cards but friends can see my activity which games I am playing. After a while a friend msg "I didnt know that you like gay stuff".... I was like......... "EEHhHhHH? WTF???? :O

Well thats the price that all game collectors have to pay in order to grab all the games...

Not sure if this post got so many likes because you're a girl who games, or that you have an ex-boyfriend and are single...

But is it this Space Tyrant you're talking about? http://store.steampowered.com/app/562230/Space_Tyrant/ Not sure what's 'gay' about it...

Maybe I'm just confused 'cause it' almost 5am here and I can't sleep... when you have insomnia everything is a copy of a copy of a copy....

You sure seem to be tired :)

The capitalization hints at " My Ex-Boyfriend" being part of the game title, though I didn't double-check.

I liked the post because the anecdote was funny, and I can relate as a "game collector" ;)
It seemed to me that wolfyrion was male, although I learned long ago not to make any assumptions about people's gender on the Internet (or to care about it, for that matter... :D)

HAHA! Yeah totally did NOT catch that. And indeed there is a game called "My Ex-Boyfriend the Space Tyrant." and indeed it does contain gay male characters. Yeah, I don't assume gender at all, the text and insinuation that they had an ex-boyfriend but was not into gay things made me think that they must be female.

I'll just try to refrain from posting on forums when deprived of sleep. But then again, this was definitely a good laugh.

Quoting: TheBardDon't confuse crap games with games that are not your taste. Crap games are those littered with bugs or just made of assets bought on a store, but considering the positive review on these titles, i doubt this is the case here. If you don't like it, just don't buy/play.

Crap is crap whether it was properly shat or not.

That is so Zen!

Quoting: GuestLmao it's called 'My Ex-Boyfriend the space Tyrant' and it's gay as fuck.

My confusion wasn't helped by the fact that there is a Space Tyrant game as well that looks kind of fun.

I fell for the very same confusion. For the records, here's Space Tyrant (might or might not be suitable for any ex boyfriend):

Had they offered School Days and Shiny Days, maybe I'd consider it.

So I started playing HuniePop...

I have added this post to describe the game for people who just don't know... (because the trailer really doesn't show a puzzle game)

As for running on linux, the game has not crashed and it has not lagged at all... even after I have had it in the background while doing other things... (but I do have a good and recent machine; described on my profile)

The puzzle game actually is good. It is a match 3 game... you get bonuses for matching 4 or 5 (or a row and a column at the same time.) It is different than the matching in a game like Bejeweled. You can move a "token" the length of the entire row or column if you want, and that actually makes a significant difference than only moving one square. If you don't adapt your gameplay to the entire row mechanic, you will be at a disadvantage when you need to score high.

(The only game I ever played with a similar mechanic before was The Queens Jewels (warning requires flash) and that was different in that it was a circular playing grid instead of a square one.

In HuniePop, you try to date 8 different women. You talk to them, ask them questions, answer their questions and if they like your answers they will agree to go on a "date" with you. The date is nothing more than you playing the match-3 game. You have 20 moves/turns and must beat a target score. If you beat the score, the "date" is successful, otherwise it is a failure.

You can talk and attempt to date four times a day, morning, afternoon, evening, and night. you can only have a "date" with each woman, once a day, so "playing the field" is essentially a requirement.

After 3 successful dates with the same woman, you will want to set up your forth date at night. After a successful 4th date, you will both return to your apartment where you will play a different game. It is still match 3 with similar movement, but you need to make matches very quick... you have infinite moves, but all the points you gain are quickly lost. You have to reach a certain point total to remove her clothes. Once you finish quick enough the night is over, and you will wake up with her the next morning.

After you "bed" one woman, the fairy that has been offering you guidance is willing to date you as well increasing the number of women to date up to 9. (Based on the number of hidden steam achievements and the number of empty slots in your photo gallery, I believe there are 3 other women to date later in the game as well.)

After each successful date (playing the puzzle game) the score total you need goes up making the game progressively harder. There is no way to play the puzzle game without going through the dating ritual. Whether you win or lose, your score total earns you "munie." Talking to the women before the "date" allows you to earn "hunie." You use "munie" to buy gifts for your potential date, which in turn allows you to earn extra "hunie" by talking, or increase the number of questions you can ask. "Hunie" is then used to increase your scoring potential on dates making it easier to have a success. SO... Game points earn "munie"; talking to women and buying them gifts earn "hunie". "Hunie" is spent to improve your game score.

As I said, the puzzle game is actually good. However, there is no way to play it without the rest of the game. If the graphics are off-putting to you, the puzzle game will not be worth it.

As for the graphics, they are of course all anime... (Duh, I know...) After the first successful date you get an innocent image of the woman, the 2nd successful date, generally a teasing shot, the third may show some animated skin and possibly a breast. The forth after she returns to your apartment usually seems to have her hand down her panties and otherwise naked. Needless to you need to be open minded to play the game. Also, game content includes "adult toys" and during the endless mode game in your apartment whenever you make a match the game makes moaning sounds. This obviously is not a game for children, prudes, or anyone that has a significant other that will be offended by the content.

Liam... (or other mods) I tried to not go completely overboard with the content of this post... but feel free to edit it if you think it is necessary. (I don't think so, but sometimes you never know...)

EDIT: The steam forums have a link on "uncensoring" the game and another on how to unlock the 3 hidden women.

Quoting: razing32I'll be honest , I never got the appeal of pr0n games.
Sure I don;t mind a titillating character but if you want pr0n just go to a XXX site and get your Hentai fresh from the source. Why bother matching gems if all you want are anime tits ??

Those are not porn, they are actual fun games that spice things up with sexyness. They are not here to masturbate to, but to play and have fun. A lot of people seems to not get it here, just try and play the games.

they arent porn, there is a game designed to be playable with one hand, so you can use the other hand for... stuffs... but they definitely arent porn! xD
