This War Of Mine Survival Game Released, It's Buggy For Linux

This War Of Mine is the brand new survival game from 11 bit studios, for those that don't recognise the name, 11 bit created the "Anomaly" series, and they also run the Games Republic store.

Sadly we cannot test it out to give you any thoughts yet, as it loads up to a white screen. We will do another article with our thoughts on it, and maybe a Linux game-play video when they fix the issues.
I am not alone in this issue either it seems.

I shall not be recommending you get it just yet, although the issue doesn't seem to happen to all Linux users, so you may get lucky.

About This War Of Mine
This War Of Mine provides an experience of war seen from an entirely new angle. For the very first time you do not play as an elite soldier, rather a group of civilians trying to survive in a besieged city. During the day snipers outside stop you from leaving your refuge, so you need to focus on maintaining your hideout. At night you get a chance to scavenge nearby locations for items that will help you stay alive.

Make life-and-death decisions driven by your conscience. Try to protect everybody from your shelter or sacrifice some of them to endure the hardships. During war, there are no good or bad decisions; there is only survival. The sooner you realize that, the better.

Quoting: JuliusIt saves into .thiswarofmine which is also hidden, just like many, many other programmes, so I don't see how this is that much of an issue.

The graphics errors seem to be related to using the newest Nvidia (beta?) drivers. With the slightly older one from the Ubuntu 14.04 repository it seems to work fine.

Don't think so; I'm using the bleeding edge drivers on both desktop and laptop (Arch x86_64 and Ubuntu 14.10 respectively).

It's on my wishlist for sure but a little ways from the top because of the lack of a demo. Hopefully it's fixed on Linux by the time I buy it.

I totally concur! Besides, nothing is funnier than shooting your best friend in the face, just because he used your sleeping bag (happened in 7daystodie and since then this is kind of a running gag between us :D - Sadly now somebody is always pointing a gun at me, just to make sure... :D)

Hey guys, (for those with the white screen issue) check again the game.
There was a small update today and now seems to be working:

Interestingly, I didn't have any problem with an AMD video card and the Open Source drivers (admittedly I'm using Arch so I have the latest Mesa 10.3). Played all weekend and the game was incredibly compelling. Dark, depressing, but very engaging.
