One of the older ports from a Humble Bundle can now be purchased for people who missed out. The action RPG Torchlight finally has a DRM free build on Humble Store.

Sadly, it seems the Steam key is still listed as Windows/Mac without a Linux version, but it's still nice to be able to get it DRM free if you missed out. Hopefully one day the Linux version will find its way onto Steam too.

About the game (From the store)
Behold Torchlight, the award winning Action RPG franchise developed by Runic Games! A veteran team composed of the designers and leads of projects like Diablo, Diablo II, Mythos, and Fate, Runic has spent many years honing and evolving this unique style of gameplay.

The adventure is set in the mining settlement of Torchlight, a boomtown founded on the discovery of rich veins of Ember - a rare and mysterious ore with the power to enchant or corrupt all that it contacts. This corruptive power may have dire consequences however, and players set out into the nearby mountains and depths below to discover the full extent of Ember’s influence on the civilizations that have come before.

The build available in my humble library is still from 2013. The windows and Mac versions don't have any date attached to them, so I don't know if they are newer build.

And it's not in my steam list of linux games. So I don't think they have changed anything to the linux version.

This is definitely fixed in the version I get from Humble now.

This has been fixed since 2013.

Had it all the time, from the HIB 6 (Sep '12). Yes, they had fixed the face issue in some update alreadi in 2013.

Great you can finally buy it! (Though I obviously won't ^_^ ) A friend of mine was looking for it lately and was quite disappointed....

If it is the same build, mouse support is probably broken out of the box for most users, (see end of thread here: http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=33360&start=60#p474739 )

Yup, seems broken. The installer (Nixstaller) checks for dependancies before extracting libs, and if libSDL2 is already installed in your system, it will skip extracting it

Here is a workaround to get the proper version of libSDL2 packaged in the installer.

./Torchlight-2013-05-21.sh --noexec --keep --target ~/torchlight-tmp
tar --strip-components 2 -xJOf ~/torchlight-tmp/subarch deps/SDL2/SDL2_files_linux_x86_64 | tar --strip-components 1 -xJf -

Then, move libSDL2-2.0.so.0 into the /lib64 directory of your torchlight installation.

You can now delete /torchlight-tmp directory in your home folder.

Bought it. Can verify Nel's fix works. You must change directory into the torchlight-tmp dir from command 1 before executing command 2
