Valve put the Steam Controller and Steam Link on a big sale again

By - | Views: 21,972

Still haven't picked up a Steam Controller or Steam Link? This latest sale might tempt you to do so as they're cheap. Note: These are not affiliate links, just highlighting a good deal.

You can buy them as a bundle, with 55% off for £35.98 which is pretty fantastic.

Separately, you can by the Steam Controller with 30% off for £27.99 and also the Steam Link, with 70% off for £11.99.

I will likely never find a use for the Steam Link in my house right now, since I have a PC hooked up to my TV. The Steam Controller however has uses that never end. Great for the majority of games I've played with it, not all mind you, but most. It also doubles up as the remote for my TV PC using SC Controller and it works so nicely.

Quoting: Darkdisorder78But the controller doesn't work in every game.
Works in every game I've tested.

Quoting: Darkdisorder78They have yet to fix a Steam controller bug in Saints Row IV.
Will test that today.

Quoting: Darkdisorder78Plus the part about it hatpic feedback is so pointless unless you are using Windows. It doesnt even work in Steam OS\linux. If I was a linux user I wouldn't buy this controlled.
Eh? It has always worked on Linux. You have to turn it on in the config for each game.

I have a steam controller but I would not recommend it to anybody. I have given up on it as the support is lacking, in fact its a joke. I wanted to use the controller on the desktop for web browsing etc but as soon as I bring up the keyboard interface and type the first letter it freezes and its been like this since launch.

This is what irks me about valve. they seems to throw a half finished product out there then move on to the next thing such as supporting ps4 pads... VALVE, AT LEAST GET YOUR OWN F***ING PAD FULLY FUNCTIONAL BEFORE STARTING WORK ON SUPPORTING SOMEONE ELSE'S CONTROLLER. :><:

What about Steam machines ? I cannot find a purchase page on Dell's Alienware website. I would have rather bought one Steam machine than a controller only.

Why do people think the Steam Machines aren't being sold anymore? Where are you ? These are some links to the Alienware Steam Machine R2. Might be available in the US for now.

I love this controller. I have it working for all of my games except FPS. I can not play any FPS with a controller. Tried and it does not work for me.

BTW - You can setup your Steam Controller to work with non-Steam games outside of Steam or even without Steam installed with this program - https://github.com/kozec/sc-controller

Yea sorry that doesn't work. It doesn't work in Linux outside of left for dead 2.

Then perhaps you're not setting something up correctly for it, or it's a distro-specific issue.

Here's where you adjust the haptic feedback:

Works without issues for me, on Ubuntu 17.04, always has for as long as I've had it.

Nah. My brother is on Linux and Linux only and he only has Steam Controllers. He plays all of his games from CS:GO to Ballistic Overkill to L4D 2 with that controller. The only issue he had was that he wanted more violent vibrations and he fixed that with SC add-on.
