It's a weekend, the sun is shining in a rare event for where I live, so naturally I will be spending my time playing Linux games. What will you be playing this weekend?

Personally, I'm going to be jumping back into Rocket League. Between the intense gameplay and sweet music, it's certainly in my top 10 most played Linux games. As much as I love the game, I'm simply terrible at it. Anyone who's watched some of our livestreams will attest to that fact, but even so I soldier on and keep playing. It truly says something about a game, to keep pulling you back in even when you know you're probably go to have loss after loss.

It always amazes me seeing people drive along the roof of an arena, to then boost through the air with pin-point accuracy and smash the ball right into the goal. I still haven't been able to wrap my head around those sick aerial jumps.

As a reminder, Rocket League and others are available in the The Humble Hooked on Multiplayer 2018 Bundle. I will be looking to setup a few more GamingOnLinux tournaments soon!

After that, likely more Phoenix Point, as they did recently release the Linux version of the backer build! I'm already incredibly impressed with the level of detail and how it feels mechanically. It might blow XCOM 1/2 right out of the water, which for me is a pretty tall order because I absolutely adore both XCOM and XCOM 2. More on that in a future article once I can gather some thoughts on it.

Finally, more time eating people in MachiaVillain, will have thoughts up on that ASAP.

Over to you in the comments!

I've been putting 6-10 hours a day into a Mount and Blade: Warband campaign for the last few weeks. :) So probably more of that, or some Ballistic Overkill.

Not played that much this weekend, but just completed (killed the boss) on FTL, using the third Engi ship, which I've not done on my present install before.

Also, I'm playing plenty of "Slay the Spire" the past few weeks. If you've played it a lot, then you're probably ready to get the Beta, and access the third character (which plays very differently to the first two).

EDIT:

Just bought and just started playing "Space Grunts" (currently discounted on Humble store). It's a simple rogue-like, turn-based, x-com-like, pixel-art game, but reasonably deep and strategic decisions to get further and further through it. Liking it so far.

Deep Rock Galactic (DXVK), some Dying Light, wish I could afford beer :/

Quoting: GuestUrgh, nothing!
so I can finally play wow with decent performance for once.

DXVK not good enough? wow is dx11 now isn't it?

https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/issues/343 (second last post shows you howto steal amdgpu-pro vulkan files for better performance!)

Not sure how well it works at present, always worth trying latest master and drivers!

Have you run into the memory leak yet? Once I had about 300 in-game days under my belt, I couldn't play it for more than about 30 seconds without a crash. And I'm not exaggerating. It's really annoying, because I was like you: that game just took over my life for a while.

I just finished Keen's Dreams in 1.5 hours. It's not a bad little platformer, though I did have to do the save-reload-reload-reload-reload-reload-save thing to get past some areas of the game. It would be improved without a lives counter.

I've discovered Shovel Knight this weekend, and played Insurgency with friends. Both games are amazing on each own.

I played League of Legends (Lutris' installer). Finally found a champion (Nasus) that I can do OK with, I do love last-hitting champions with a fed Q heheheh...

Quoting: Eikebuy and continue Bear With Me (the free first episode really helped me decide on this one!), an adventure game being cute and dark at the same time.

Oh, man!
They've changed save game format so I cannot use my save from the free episode in the complete edition... :-/
Achievements are counting seperate as well...
Still, looking forward to playing more of this!
