What are you playing this weekend?

By - | Views: 25,136

It's the start of another weekend, time to grab a coffee and relax with a good game, so what are you going to play?

There's been a lot of really great releases for Linux lately, it's getting incredibly hard to choose what to play.

I am most likely going to be diving into some more "All Walls Must Fall", it seems like such a unique strategy game! I'm a huge geek when it comes to anything involving time travel, so it's speaking to my inner nerd.

There's also the Don't Starve Together event, which was actually quite fun. I've always loved the art style in Don't Starve and this event system is a rather nice idea. It is quite gruelling though, but that's likely down to the teams I keep getting, where everyone seems to go off doing their own thing.

I've also been looking into treating myself to a racing wheel this holiday season, likely the Logitech Driving Force GT, which Feral seem to support pretty well and eBay has some good prices for it. I love racing games, but I can only imagine how much more fun something like F1 2017 on Linux would be with a wheel.

Finally, on a personal note: I am moving house Monday/Tuesday next week and won't have internet installed until Wednesday so please forgive me for no posts during that time. I've lined up our talented wordsmith BTRE with a few posts to keep us ticking over.

I'm currently trying to improve my track record in Brazil.
F1 2017, with "elite" realism but easy AI, is so much fun to drive!
(I'm using a Logitech G25, works perfectly and I guess they are not that expensive anymore.)

Been playing F1 2017 with the Logitech Driving Force GT myself actually. Works superbly and I've been having a blast! I wasn't sure we'd have a racing game I'd enjoy as much as DiRT Rally, but damn, F1 2017 is brilliant.

I played about 40 hours of The Witcher 2 over the past three weeks. I suspect I will try to finish it this weekend. Then ... onwards to Observer!

Mainly Wow and Dirt rally. And probably some Payday 2

Yeah, Dirt is really cool, but fighting wheel to wheel against other drivers in F1 2017 is a different level. The AI is also doing great, even on easy* you can't just overtake on the straight, you really need to be better.

*Well for my credits: I'm using the highest easy level, so close to medium ;)

Love to give Dying Light another go this weekend as well but still will not load. Think if I have time will either Dirt Rally or Serious Sam.

In no particular order,

  • SPAZ 2

  • SPAZ 2

and maybe
  • SPAZ 2

I have a galaxy to save from the Zombie infestation!

P.S. SPAZ 2 = Space Pirates and Zombies 2 from our friends at Minmax Games

The other thing about F1 2017 that has genuinely surprised me is how stable it is. And this is a Vulkan only title I'm playing on RadV (AMD 380X).

Kudos Feral. Linux gaming really is going places when we get ports like that.

Probably CS:Go with my routine.

First ; warm up with an arms race match.

Second ; play one or two rounds casual.

Third ; play competitive.
