What one game would blow your mind if it came to Linux & SteamOS?

By - | Views: 102,129
It's question time today here on GOL, so sit down and come have a chat. Today I ask a very simple question: what game would literally blow your mind if it came to Linux & SteamOS?

I've asked myself this very same question and while it looks like a simple question, the truth is that it's actually quite difficult to narrow it down.

There's a fair amount of great games we don't have and that's probably a heavy understatement. There's a good 10-20 games I badly want on Linux and narrowing them down was a bit of a task.

I think my all time wish right now would be: Fallout New Vegas.

A game I actually own, as it's one of the left-overs from back when I was dual-booting. I can't bring myself to load up Windows to play it. My Windows hard drive doesn't even fit in my PC case, so it becomes a nuisance to actually load Windows any way now.

Why Fallout New Vegas? I've been a Fallout fan since a young age and I think I've actually played all of them now. I love the world, the style of it and the gameplay is engrossing as hell. It was my favourite of the series by far.

Skyrim, definitely.

If a company would propose me to port 100 second-class titles on Linux OR Skyrim, I'd choose Skyrim.

Honestly anything Blizzard. I am not talking about the new stuff, but the classics like Diablo and Starcraft from the 90s. Second up on the list would be the original Deus Ex from 2000

Anachronox, because it's my favorite game, the best game I have ever played.

From more recent stuff The Witcher 3 would have made my day. The Age of Decadence I'd also be really happy about, a fantastic immersive RPG. King of Dragon Pass would also be much appreciated. Would be lovely if Daedalic finally ported Memoria to Linux too, it's their best title.

Im sure its already been mentioned but Fall out new vegas runs in wine really well. By really well i mean 40 - 60 fps on a mostly highest settings on the older opensource AMD drivers on a low end APU ! @1080p

It was one of the easiest wine games to get going too. No hassle just install straight from Steam-wine.

The Witcher 3 and Legend Of Grimrock 2. Both are also drm-free. Other games like Dragon Age 3 or Final Fantasy XV would be awesome, but they won't be drm-free. Dragon Age 3 have a chance, though.
