Wine Staging 2.12 is a pretty interesting release with a fair few goodies this time like Direct3D 10/11 improvements and better Mesa support.

Here's the highlights of their release:
  • Support for depth bias / depth clamping in D3D11.
  • Support for copying between resources with compatible DXGI formats.
  • Use OpenGL core context when necessary.
  • Various smaller bug fixes and improvements.

They have fixed various issues with Assassin's Creed III, Witcher 3, Trackmania Turbo and the Unigine Heaven benchmark when running them in Wine.

They also adjusted it so Mesa users don't need create the MaxVersionGL registry key when using Direct3D 10/11 applications. It will also now automatically detect when to use core or compatibility context.

There's a bug in Wine 2.11 that prevents Steam working, which Wine Staging 2.12 also has a fix for. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

How can i install 64bit-version of wine-staging?

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install --install-recommends winehq-staging

...will install only the 32bit-version. ???

Installing wine-staging should pull in wine-staging-amd64 as well I think. If not, install it explicitly.

apt-cache depends wine-staging
wine-staging
  PreDepends: dpkg
    dpkg:i386
  Depends: libc6
  Depends: wine-staging-amd64
  Depends: <wine-staging-i386>
    wine-staging-i386:i386

View video on youtube.com

In video after 28min audio is corrupted (posible relation with ffmpeg with pulse ?)

Trackmania turbo shows huge performance boost and correct road bugs (some minor bugs in sky remains)

Lastest test (dont be possible recording at 48fps because game stay around 40fps)

And now with wine 2.12 staging, game runs above 55fps (recording at 48fps)

Without forget Assassins Creed IV runs good and stable (between 25 to 30fps in island) but in habana stay around 20 to 25fps

So hard to distinguish between the game designer's "glitches" and the genuine Wine ones...

Quoting: tuxisagamerHey, speaking of Steam in wine, anyone get the text in the web browser/ storefront to display? It's not the old -no-dwrite issue nor does it seem to be no -no-cef-sandbox.

I just experienced this issue: in a 32 bit prefix, if I set the Windows version to "Windows XP" everything works as expected, if I switch version to "Windows 7" fonts disappears

Sadly game devs dont added more graphic options (until now), if them could be add global illumination option can be helpfull for more machines

For be very recently title runs very well, other titles with minor graphics shows more bugs case strider

Resuming game is playable and at least in test game is stable

No, it doesn't. Even does not RE7.

Looking at the video, the missing bullet bug is still there. There should be large round pink bullets being fired at around 9:50 and 12:58, among other places. You can see that it's being fired by the reddish glow around the enemy, but no bullet can be seen.
