I wrote an article recently about Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap [Steam] and that Ethan Lee was working on porting it, turns out it will release this month!

The developer announced yesterday on their website that the Linux release will be on July 18th:
Quote1. Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap will be available for Mac and Linux on July 18th!

Ported by Ethan Lee (flibitijibibo.com), who brought plenty of games to those systems (FEZ, Flinthook, Bastion, Transistor, Shenzen I/O or Super Hexagon…), the game will be available next week for both Mac and Linux! You can wishlist the game on Steam, and if you already bought it for Windows it will work on your other computer platforms.

Really great to see Ethan continue to port some fantastic games to Linux, we've had absolutely tons from him now it's quite nuts.

About the game
QuotePlay as the game’s classic character, Hu-Man, or as his brand-new, long-awaited co-star Hu-Girl. You can also inhabit Lizard-Man, Mouse-Man, Piranha-Man, Lion-Man, and Hawk-Man, and use their unique abilities to uncover the land’s deepest secrets.

Enjoy 3 difficulty levels catering to players of all types, and switch from modern graphics and sound to 8-bit graphics/audio at any time - even during gameplay!

The game is a remake of the 1989 game Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap from Westone Bit Entertainment. The reviews on Steam paint us a very positive picture, so it looks like it will be worth a purchase! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

The representative of many SEGA titles and consoles in Brazil TECTOY launched a modified version of Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap in 1993 that included characters from Brazilian comic book series Monica's Gang (Turma da Mônica).[1][2]

Now, for this 2017 the brazilian fans recreated this port as a mod [2], and, as a kid who played this long time ago, I'm really excited to play this game again, on Linux AND with this mod! :)

Awesome! I'm a huge fan of the Master System game, and this remake looks simply spectacular. Didn't think we'd see the Linux version quite so soon!
