But the raw issue is that we need more Vulkan games. For example, Alice VR should work, and indeed it works under Linux, but it doesn't display in the Vive headset, since Vulkan support is required. Serious Sam VR: The First Encounter works great though, it's just a serious pain! But Seriously fun!
Destinations and a few other things work though. Definitely need Vulkan...
