Random FPS drops in Dying Light
PopeRigby commented on 2 December 2019 at 9:10 am UTC

Every once in a while, I'll get some FPS drops in Dying light. They go away a few seconds after it starts happening and the trigger seems to be arbitrary.

Out of VRAM?

kokoko3kOut of VRAM?

That seems pretty unlikely. I have 6GB of it.

Background processes or overheating, maybe...
You've to tell us a bit more.

What more information do you think would be useful?

System specs,Desktop environment, what runs in background...
Anyway, try even with dxvk or steam play; it is said to perform better.

Desktop environment: KDE Plasma

Things running in the background:
  • Firefox

Those are the main things.

I'm running archlinux+plasma as well and I did not observed any slowdown, running on an i5+gtx1050ti, but i use the windows version via Proton; it even runs with less lag than the Linux build for me.
You may want to give it a try.
