New Proton Build for Skyrim / Fallout / VR or not with SKSE, and also HOTAS
Patola 22 Jun

Hi all, I would like to know if anyone wants to help me test my proton build (for Steam) that allows the SKSE (Skyrim Skript Extender) to be used, and all the mods that depend on it too. This patch also has a code-in-progress to improve HOTAS support on wine, by increasing the number of buttons and axes allowed -- works great in Elite: Dangerous for example.

I have described the "adventure" of finding out how to do it in my weekend comment: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2020/06/what-have-you-been-playing-recently-2106/comment_id=184300

My modified release of proton is here: https://github.com/Patola/wine/releases/tag/proton_skyrimvr - you can also download it from mega, https://mega.nz/file/SdIChKiD#QXI5U5GKtmS2d_XWMdnnJGFpYzrZqjvwhNodASqQmX8

The code is of course is in my Valve's wine fork, https://github.com/Patola/wine

This is an example of VRIK (which depends on SKSEVR) running in Skyrim VR:

Note: for configuring VRIK after having installed it I highly recommend this video -- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvtEiV3V_gM
