Lutris uses a separate Steam runner which it would automatically prompt you to install when you first use the program to download a game from Steam (you just need to install it oncez to use it for any game).

You can click "Play" on akutris after you have finished downloading the game to access it.

If I may ask, why not use Steam with Steam Play enabled (this can be found in the settings panel) considering the client is a native application. Watchdogs 2 besides some minor issues runs fine on Proton according to ProtonDB: https://www.protondb.com/app/44704.

I typically just use the Steam client for any Steam titles (as it's the more simplistic approach) and Lutris for GOG ones, as they are DRM-Free and don't require the use of a runner.

You can check on ProtonDB or WineHq's AppDB , to see if the given Windows game is able to run on Linux using compatibility layers such as WINE or Proton.

I think, with DRM games from Steam, we need to run once the game in Steam to validate it.
