Like CatKiller, I'm not sure I need a 1Tb. I'll mostly be streaming (assuming they get that working). But despite the extra money, I just thought I'd go big.

Coming from a Quest 1 that hasn't been online in a long time and had to endure a lot of Beatsaber.
I was initially gonna go for the 1 TB one, but I figured that 256 GB should be plenty for the few (smaller) games that I'll install and play standalone.
I've got a beefy PC, so I'm gonna stream from that most of the time.
The only thing that makes me crave the 1 TB version is being able to have a neat portable full fledged little Linux computer strapped to my face.
Mainly for doing VR gamedev right on the device.
But 256 GB should still be enough for that, I'll need a keyboard any mouse anyways and could probably just stream from my desktop or Laptop instead.
Plus, the resolution is likely not high enough to do anything where you've got to read (and write) lots of text.
At least from my experience with the Quest 3 headsets we've got at my university.
Another thing is availability: I'd expect the 256 GB one to be less impacted by current storage prices and availability. (Thanks LLM companies and people flooding the internet with slop and vibeslopped software, burning our planet in the process.)
At least having to wait until the end of the year to be able to order one won't be as bad for me, because I'm currently doing a semester abroad and will be home by christmas at the earliest π
Wishing everyone luck :)
