Unknown Horizons 2026.2 — Anno-like revived (Aristocrats tier, naval warfare)

Unknown Horizons is the open-source Anno-style city builder (GPL-2.0) that went quiet years ago. I'm bringing it back under TuningFork — same game, kept alive and improving.

2026.2 is out today:
- The Aristocrats tier: the original team designed six population tiers and shipped five. Now the sixth is playable — coffee chains, garment workshops, theatres, palaces, new citizen needs.
- Military depth: new Ship of the Line warship (12 guns, 400 hull), AI opponents that build real fleets, pirates that grow bolder over time, AI wooden tower defenses.

Ohh. Thats good news that its still alive. Hopefully network de-sync issues are fixed also?
last time i played this game was like 10+ years ago. Thought the development stopped, but that is really good news. Lovely game!

Appreciate it. Been working on the netcode. The sync check in the new build now covers ground units, ship health, and buildings instead of just settlements and RNG, and it saves a diagnostic report when a desync hits so the cause can actually be tracked down. Not a root-cause fix for every desync yet, but the next one will be diagnosable instead of a dead end. If you ever play multiplayer and hit one, send me the report file.
