Some weeks back a game by the name of Automata Empire was recommended to me and I happened to find it on a Friday before the weekly stream. So, here are my thoughts on the game.
The Mims Beginning is a very promising strategy god-like game that has supported Linux for quite some time. It's really pleasing to see it have a final release.
I've been following Hearthlands for quite some time and I supported them quite early on, so it's really great to see the little city builder evolve. It has a new trailer and update ready.
Originally launched on Linux in 2013 on IndieGameStand, Soulcaster: Part I & II are coming together as a bundle on Steam.
I have a real soft spot for Overfall, it looks simple, but it has some really engaging gameplay with it mixing up a few different styles. The Linux version works really well too.
Duskers, an Indie sci-fi 'rogue-like' strategy game from Misfits Attic has now left Early Access. This is my review of the game after having spent a week and some 5 hours with it.
Space is only going to get bigger with what Paradox has planned for future Stellaris updates. I am still playing it and still in love with this game.
Planetary Annihilation: TITANS looks to be getting a new lease of life after two recent patches have been released into their test builds. Not only that, but an entirely new faction has been created in a mod.
Paradox fans may want to know that Hearts of Iron IV is officially available to pre-order and there's a trailer.
Overfall is a game I really think you guys need to own, when I tried out recently I found the mix of exploration, story encounters and combat to be really quite awesome.
I love Tycoon styled games and Blueprint Tycoon is a weird entry. I mean that in a nice way, as it's great to see some innovation.
Atriage is one title I missed due to Steam's failure to show games that produce a Linux version after the Windows release in the Linux newly released section. Atriage is a turn-based strategy game inspired by Sci-fi space naval battles in 80s Anime where you command a fleet of ten warships against a rival commander.
Civilization VI has been announced, the publisher has confirmed to me that Linux will be supported and the official twitter account has also confirmed Linux will be supported.
I recently covered Solar Division and while I liked most of what it had to offer, the game was just too easy. The developers agreed with me and they have not only balanced some tower types, they have also introduced difficulty levels.
Infinium Strike is a pretty damn interesting looking space action and strategy game. I like the mix of styles the game has and it will include a proper campaign, sold!
Stellaris is the brand new space strategy game from Paradox that will launch today with day 1 Linux support. I was able to play it and livestream it before release, so here are some thoughts.
I actually really liked where XCOM went with X-COM: Apocalypse, it had issues sure, but it had some interesting features. Like OpenXcom, OpenApoc will be a fully featured open source engine. The new video showing their progress is fantastic.
Thanks to the Paradox twitter team I now have access to Stellaris! I will be booting up a special Livestream tonight.
XCOM 2's new DLC named Alien Hunters is due for general release on May 12th, but it's possible the Linux release may be delayed as Feral Interactive are simply saying "Soon".
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun certainly reminds me of the old Commandos game I played a lot when I was younger and who doesn't like ninjas?
