Regarding new hardware to justify a new Steam Deck, youtuber ETA Prime did a test with the new APU Z2 Go on a Lenovo portable, and the result were not pretty. It barely beats the Steam Deck, and the CPU is a couple years newer.
So yeah, anything capable of beating the Steam Deck by at least 50%, is way more expensive and much more power hungry. Until something can deliver a big jump in performance, while being as cheap and power efficient, we are not getting a Deck 2.
