I love keeping an eye on Maia, as it's one of the only building sims that isn't going for some sort of retro style. Progress isn't quick, but each new release does push out some big new stuff, and this new release is no different.

Maia is a close favourite project of mine, and I really can’t wait to see it get more content. Thankfully the latest version has been released today, so I took a look.

Maia is certainly an interesting take on the colony building genre, but it has been lacking in things to do. This new major release aims to help with that, and it brings fire.

So to keep the theme going of not directly new/up-coming gaming news after the Black Annex developer stated how easy it is to support Linux, the developer of Maia has openly stated that Linux has sold far more than Mac for him.

Maia is a colony building game set in the not-so-distant future. Your colonists make planetfall on a hostile world and you must ensure their survival and their safety, constructing their off-world habitat from almost nothing and sheltering them from a dangerous, often deadly environment.

So AMD has announced a low level graphics API that will be cross platform (no actual platforms stated yet though). This will make things very interesting that's for sure.

Another bunch of games have been greenlit by Steam and yes there are even some coming over to Linux as well thankfully! It's getting better and better to be a Linux gamer! Sorry this one's a bit late.

A question I am sure is burning in everyone’s minds is "Will gog.com ever support Linux", well I aim to give this a bit of limelight here on GOL.
