I was sure I had seen benchmarks showing that 32 bit was faster for a significant number of programs, but a phoronix search showed this http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=ubuntu_1210_3264&num=1 where 64 bit is indeed almost always faster by a significant margin. So looks like I was wrong.

I thought your comment was odd heh, I always remember 64bit being better than 32bit. It is not just more RAM that makes it worthwhile.

Not hate, but 64bit only in the future is inevitable as games grow. It can also create issues for some developers having to support both.
