Balrum, an old-school RPG game released on Steam for Linux

Quoting: ripperVery much reminds me of Eschalon, a game I enjoyed quite a bit.

Was indeed my first thought when I saw the image on the main page, and that got deepened by the trailer. Sometimes as if it were even the same graphics elements (trees, chests).

That said, I love the Eschalon series, so if/when this shows up outside steam there's a huge chance (like 99%...) I buy it :D

Deponia Doomsday coming to Linux on March 1st

Hmm, I have the first three, and played through all of them. The first one I really found hillarious, but in my perception the quality went down over the trilogy - at least I didn't enjoy the last one as much as the first one. So I'm not really sure what to expect of yet another part.
But I'll probably buy it anyway - at least if it shows up on GOG, that is.

Also an instant buy, although I already own Trine 3 and Outlast.

But honestly, the HIBs are the only thing I buy there nowadays, as anything else is either windows- or steam-only. That the store page doesn't even load properly in my browser might be an additional point....

Pillars of Eternity: The White March - Part II is now available

QuoteIf you like the story and aren’t too happy about combat, there’s a mode for you that takes the emphasis away from needing to build a good party of fighters.

That's a big argument, indeed! I love the game story and looks, but really got frustated by combat: Ihaven't much experience in party-based RPGs, and the 'tutorial' isn't really good to jump-start you into this :(

Time to dig the game out again :D

Amazon launches Lumberyard, a free game engine that will support Linux and have source access

Quoting: CAPTNCAPSEven if they created the best, most awesome game engine in the world I'd refuse to use it, for the sake of not feeding a Konzern more money.

Then how come you're using Steam? Not any better in that respect.....

Thanks for (yet another ^_^ ) great review of a DRM-free game! I like the genre, and at the requested price it was an instant buy, despite your 'warnings'. I'll see how I get along with the game....

Disapointing that it seems to be Steam only. I loved the Hexcells series....

The Fall of the Dungeon Guardians, a surprisingly great dungeon crawler

Quoting: PlintslchoI'll keep an eye on this and may pick the game up when it becomes available in other stores such as GOG.com as well.

On the Game website you can buy it from the developers for direct download, w/o needing Steam :D
