Martian city-builder ‘Surviving Mars’ released with day-1 Linux support

@Eike : on my setup (Manjaro KDE Nvidia) I almost never see it at all. Not during the actual gameplay, but during some narration on a couple of words. I guess it depends on one's setup...

Pre-ordered on GoG, first time I do it, just based on its pedigree and theme. Not disappointed so far. Text bug is minimal.

Fast-paced neo-retro shooter 'Tower 57' is still coming to Linux

"Modern" Amigas = Amigas from the 80s or 90s with PowerPC accelerator boards + (mostly) PCI GFX board (Cybergrafx / Picasso 96 = "retargetable graphics" that makes no use of the original Amiga customs chips
with AmigaOS 4 or MorphOS (PowerPC AmigaOS reimplementation)
*or* PowerPC machines from the early 2000 with AmigaOS 4 or MorphOS (the machine itself has nothing to do with an Amiga ; the OSes are compatible with 68k apps that make no use of the custom chips)
*or* AROS (OpenSource AmigaOS reimplementation) on a regular PC.

Well, there was a revival at the beginning of the 2000 with new machines & OSes... I bought a Pegasos = PPC machine meant to be used with MorphOS in 2002...

Yeah, Amiga port first :-)
Not a big deal as we get a thousand new games a year anyway !
I pre-ordered this one 2.5 years ago, boxed version :-)

Man, I cannot believe I was playing Sim Ant on my Amiga 25+ years ago !!

The brilliant time-manipulating tactical shooter 'All Walls Must Fall' has a big update and release date

Looks unique !
BTW, a bit related : do you guys & gals remember ACHRON ? The time-manipulation based RTS released for Linux about 5 years back ? It seemed very interesting, was actually released and then it kinda vanished, as if nobody cared... Was available before the Steam frenzy in no-DRM form.

BTW, off-topic : KDE Plasma 5.12 will be released this Tuesday !

Edit : oh my gosh, it was released in 2011 !

Crazy shoot 'em up 'PAWARUMI' has officially launched

@g00h : ah, ok then, I haven't been this far I must admit. Although I spent quite a few hours and am a bit fed up redoing the levels again and again just to improve my ship... Well, in any shmup you re-do the levels many times anyway, for other reasons !

Powerless is quite possibly one of the worst FPS games I've ever played

Well, by our standards, it's clearly something no-one would want to spend time with... Ever ! But someone still probably spent dozens (hundreds ?) of hours developing it I remember I spent so much time coding just a breakout game on Amiga, I was happy about it although I knew no-one would be interested !

Just a word to say... Of course it's horrible :-) But there's a real human being behind, and we're so accustomed to incredibly good games

UltraViolet : it's really not comparable actually. That's a completely different gameplay. I do prefer it a lot over Sky Force but some will prefer Sky Force. It looks like arcade games from the Dreamcast era (Ikaruga !) but has an original gameplay.

Contrary to Sky Force, which has many levels and hours of gameplay, PAWARUMI solely relies on the player's skill. In Sky Force you literally spend HOURS to gain stars to make your ship more powerful to be able to beat the levels and unlock stuff. (which is addictive but kinda irritating... and actually turns out to be repetitive despite the number of levels) In Pawarumi, there is no power up. The player has to learn how to combine the three weapons / use the colors system. So games sessions are shorter but intensive.

Well, just get it, it's worth it :-) Also the developers are Linux friendly.
