The first Steam Play update for this year is out with Proton 3.16-7 beta

Damn! Skyrim doesn't work for me anymore after installing this newest proton version! This can be mean only one thing for me: A nice trip tomorrow to loony house with white collar men and they say:time to have you a good overdose of sedatives and if you wake up son, if you wake up, we'll see if you're a good boy!what an ending for me! But now back in real life. Maybe in next proton Skyrim begins work again. And hopefully Rocksmith 2014 remastered too.The latter hasn't worked for me all the time since proton was published.Still one must have patience. Hopefully this is the year of Linux gaming especially when proton leaves beta.

The war of the PC stores is getting ugly, as Metro Exodus becomes a timed Epic Store exclusive

This kind of move I personally don't like. Only in the next year this game will be released on steam. What a bad joke. This makes me even more angrier. Anyway I'm not interested in this game anymore especially after 4A Games and Deep Silver switched its place from steam to the Epic Store. Goodbye and good riddance! And Epic games hopefully will end up in epic fail. To ignore Linux in this way(not in the road map) will result in disaster in the long run for Epic games. And this year is critical when support for windows 7 ends. Hopefully we see then Linux player growth in OS statistics especially when dxvk project is ready. That should be a game changer. I really wish that

Well steamplay is a good alternative for those who want more and Valve's work with steamplay really raises my hope and expectations for the future of linux gaming. If only people could see that freedom(linux) is better than Microsoft's slavery. I haven't tried even windows 10 because I don't like the way it behaves.Still it's too difficult get people to change their OS. But we have hope. Microsoft may rule in computers but elsewhere Linux thrives like cellphones( android), future cars, raspherry pi, automation and so on. It has still lot of potential. Even microsoft's AI's prefers Linux! So heads up and and hope for a better tomorrow. In Linux we trust!

Some Linux games we’re excited to see in 2019, a list to keep you going

For me early christmas would come before summer if we had Skyrim as native port but that's very unlikely to happen.Still there's room for attitude change when it comes to Beteshda. Hopefully this is the year of linux gaming

Epic Games have confirmed a Linux version of their store is not on the roadmap

I still believe epic's decision is stupid. But I belive that Valve will thrive in the future. Hopefully most game publishers won't change their attitude against Valve. And users too. I don't believe that so called big bang will happen and Valve lose their throne to epic. A lot of things must happen before that

I'm a bit sad about epic's decision. But maybe time is not ripe for linux platform to their road map. This can be an advantage for Valve. For me personally, I won't buy a single game from epic store until something happens like Linux support for example. The next year will be very intresting....

Good work! The Next year will be more intresting than previous one. Hopefully we see the Linux growth in OS statistics. Still a lot of work it requires but signs are positive. And by the way happy new year and may 10 years of enchantment of luck and happiness fall upon gol and its memebers!

Good work! Earth will be a better place to live after valve's work is done. Gabe Newell will have a golden statue which is located in New York right beside the liberty statue! Anyway into the point. I can't wait to have some windows titles work properly out of the box. Still one must have patience. But I expect big things to happen soon
