Paradox detail what's to come in future Stellaris updates

By - | Views: 10,085
Space is only going to get bigger with what Paradox has planned for future Stellaris updates. I am still playing it and still in love with this game.

They have outright stated they have expansions planned for the game, but they will spend May and June on bug fixes and free upgrades for the game.

First up, they just released a new hotfix and patch notes are here.

See their full post on it here.

The first update named "Clarke" is due towards the end of this month and will include:
- Fixes to the Ethic Divergence and Convergence issues. Currently, Pops tend to get more and more neutral (they lose Ethics, but rarely gain new ones.)
- The End of Combat Summary. This screen looks bad and also doesn’t tell you what you need to know in order to revise your ship designs, etc.
- Sector Management GUI: There are many issues with this, and we will try to get most of them fixed.
- Diplomacy GUI issues. This includes the Diplomatic Pop-Ups when other empires contact you, but also more and better looking Notifications, and more informative tooltips on wars, etc.
- AI improvements: Notably the Sector AI, but also plenty of other things. This kind of work is never "finished"...
- Myriads of bug fixes and smaller GUI improvements.
- Late game crises bugs. There were some nasty bugs in there, blocking certain subplots and various surprising developments.
- Remaining Performance Issues. We know about them; they might even be hotfixed before Clarke.
- Corvettes are too good.
They also include some mock-up screenshots of some of the improved UI sections.

After "Clarke" they are also planning "Heinlein", but they aren't promising specifics in this one, just what they hope to add in. Heinlein is probably more exciting as it should add in a bunch more mid-game content and more mechanics for fleet battles like formations.

Stellaris is already awesome, but these free updates will help flesh-out some parts of the game that really need it.

I would also like to see them implement some proper scaling options that doesn't force 4K users to use mods or a lower resolution.

Also, the amount of mods already available is quite amazing. You can even play as the Kerbals from Kerbal Space Program.

How about an Easy mode? There's even a mod for that too. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Quoting: seb24I have the same experience ^^. The first time pirates defeated me :D . And the second time an Isolationist Empire came with a 17K fleet against my 5K Fleet...

That sounds suspicious. What did you do to piss off the isolationist empire? :)

Still on my first game, Earth ofc, 80h and counting lol. Sector GUI is indeed rubbish. Actually had 1 CTD in it. A few other glitches as well, all but one fixed with a reload.

Easy mode? What?! It's been a walk so far. Perhaps due to powerful friends, *shrugs* Otherwise, it seems the estimated strength meter is a bit off: I kept to myself for far too long instead of beating the crap out of everyone. Then again, I did not piss off any fallen empires, duh. I am looking forward to taking one on soon as I am getting close with not all stats 'overwhelming' any more.

Hint: integrating vassals is cool and all but takes forever if they have many planets.

As a side note, I hate hyperlane enemies, next FTL I'm using for sure.

Spoiler, click me

What's this I hear about another Human civ? How do you find/liberate one?

So, anyone battled the AI yet?

The game is pretty amazing already. Rock solid Linux version and a very decent tutorial mode for this type of game (unlike Beyond Earth, ughh)!
My first game ended up being a 17-20 hour (my memory and Steam don't agree on this) play session. I'm scared to start the game again :P
