Engage excitement number one! Feral Interactive are teasing a brand new Linux port on their little port teaser radar.

Here's the clue:

"WEST NORWOOD"

It's a new game, not something in their back catalogue of Mac titles, which is pretty exciting. Feral tend to pick reasonably big titles too.

Feral Interactive have ported many titles to Linux now including XCOM 2, Tomb Raider, Mad Max, Life is Strange, Dawn of War III and many more. It will be very interesting to see what it is, hopefully something I can sink hours into.

Begin guessing! Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

It would be nice if it was Rise of the Tomb Raider, seems probable too.

Or Doom, I really want Doom.

When I first read WEST NORWOOD I was on mobile phone and somehow it flipped upside down, and from that angle the first part of word I read as DOOM. And the part from twitter about overheating.

But somehow I doubt it's DOOM.

Quoting: morbiusIt's almost certainly Rise of The Tomb Raider. While I appreciate that you ported the first Tomb Raider, I don't really care about the sequel. Sorry if I sound spoiled, you guys are doing a great work, it's just lately that ports are not really getting my attention.

What I'd really like is something like Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, Bayonetta, Dishonored, Brothers: Tale of Two Sons or Dragon's Dogma, although I get that those games are old and there is not much money in them anymore. I think most of us would prefer those rare 'must try' games rather than yet another shooter or RTS.

Yeah I see what you mean, I know that they can't just port any game that they like, they need the approval from the original developer but I still can't see why don't they bring LEGO titles to linux since they're already on Mac and WB and TellTale have ported a few games to linux... or some other cool titles that are easy job to port. But all the games that would be great to have are usually made by companies that don't even give a fuck about linux.

Quoting: natis1If so then it would be their first Ubisoft game
We already had Grow Home, then we didn't get the sequel. :|

The weather forecast in West Norwood for Tuesday is: Rather cloudy with showery outbreaks of rain developing, some heavier bursts possible, and probably becoming more organised into the evening.

Yeah... Linux is not a priority for Ubisoft, it represents 1% (Linux marketshare) of 10% (PC marketshare) of the sales of a game (so a total of 0.1%). Right now, studios that do (or finance) Linux port are doing it for the test or for the fun, but not really for the money. I would really be surprised if Ubisoft would finance Linux ports of their AAA games.

Rise of the Tomb Rider would be really good :D specially if with vulkan.

Dirt 4 would be nice also, but sadly its not as good as dirt rally when it comes to realistic physics :)

i have no idea about the clue though :D

but since feral has ported codemasters and square enix games, i think those are plausible games.

Splash Damage games are also based in West Norwood as just looked at job vacancies in west norwood there appears to be at least six game studios in that area of London two which are looking for unity devs. Splash Damage are responsible for Dirty Bomb

The only game I want on Linux right now, is Doom 2016.

Why the fuck didn't they label it as Doom 4...
