Football Manager 2018 release date announced with Linux support once again

Good news for Football fans, as I have it confirmed to me today that Football Manager 2018 [Steam, Official Site] will launch on November 10th and it will feature day-1 Linux support. That will be the fifth in the series to support Linux, which is a really good sign. It seems SEGA and Sports Interactive have no trouble continuing to support us.

They're doing a deal right now that if you own Football Manager 2017 and pre-order Football Manager 2018 (before Monday, October 9th) you will get a 25% discount, so that's not a bad deal.

If you do pre-order, you can gain access to a "fully-playable Beta", which can be continued into the full game at the final release.

They will be releasing more details on what's new through September on the official site. Details on exactly what's different are a little light right now, but I expect we will hear more soon.

Will you be grabbing a copy?

edono, its too expensive and it never gets cheaper since it gets deleted after a year
Football Manager 2017 price is now at -80% OFF, if you think it is still expensive then this game is really not for you.

I think the point is the 2017 version is now out of date. The new season's started here in the UK and the staff and squads have changed. So if you want it to be realistic (after all it is a simulator of sorts) then you have to buy the new updated version every year. Too expensive for me I'm afraid.

I tried limping on with my old version for a while but I do want the players to be up to date. If you're not bothered by that of course, then you can play the same version forever It would be nice if you could just buy an update for the database to stay fresh.

If you want to be realistic then you have to keep paying every year, because the license needs to be extended, FIFA won't give the license for free.

SEGA is definitely one of the top Linux game publishers. Still playing 2015 (no point buying each year), but definately a good title to have on Linux.
