The first one that comes to mind for me was Prey. Not the 2017 version but the original. I didn't expect the story to be as good as it was. Another would be Kane and Lynch 2 because I didn't think the first was all that good so I never expected the sequel to be such a solid game. One last one I will mention was Saints Row 3. The first two had really not impressed me at all but the third was not only fun to play but hilarious.

Quoting: PublicNuisanceThe first one that comes to mind for me was Prey. Not the 2017 version but the original.

I can say that about both for me. I played the original out of curiosity for the whole portal/gravity mechanics but the themes and characters were really well done. I never expected to finish it as FPS games are not really my thing, but I was hooked. It was short enough to not overstay its welcome and it left me wanting more. I know I say it all the time everywhere, but we were completely robbed when Prey 2 was cancelled.

For Prey 2017, I avoided it until just earlier this year, admittedly alot out of spite for the above, but I finally caved when it was super cheap. The opening was great,
Spoiler, click me
even if you know or can guess the twist coming
, and it gave me enough Deus Ex-ish vibes to keep me engaged. I thought it dragged a bit toward the end and enemies became more annoying than scary or dangerous, and all the side missions really started hurting the pacing so I admittedly stopped caring about those. Lots of little details and reveals though, lots of love put into it. A real shame what happened to the team afterward...

Going way back, I will also say Penumbra. I bought the series when they released the native versions since it looked good for a Linux game esp back then and I wanted to throw some money for the support (it was pretty cheap too IIRC). I never liked horror games, though now I think it's because so many think gore == horror, but Frictional was magic with how they had me *love* hating that game. It took me forever to make it through since I am a coward, but the rush it gave me was unmatched.

Another one I just thought of was Mighty Final Fight....... I only played it for the first time the other month and it was way better than I thought it was going to be....... Its the best Final Fight game by a country mile.........

To be honest, I never liked playing games and I rarely played anything until the age of 25. But I always wanted to find the perfect way to spend my free time so that I can relax perfectly and forget about all the worries, and I came to this through gambling. I'm really surprised how cool this market is and people can choose games for every taste. Recently at https://aussiebestcasinos.com/casino-bonuses/80-free-spins-no-deposit/ I read a review of the best 80 free spins no deposit online casinos in Australia in 2023, where I can now choose a gaming site every week from a fresh top from this service in order to try as much as possible of something new for myself from this category, which I was very hooked on and which I recommend with confidence.

Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew

I know, there's currently only the demo available. But I was really surprised by the demo. Originally I wasn't even interested in the game. I didn't like its theme and artwork. But after playing the demo I totally changed my mind. I thoroughly enjoyed the game and am now looking forward for the full release.

Pity though, that there isn't a Linux version this time.

Started playing Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for the first time. It's really good. One side story line there is so amazing (The Harvester mission).
