By liamdawe, 16 May 2010 at 2:04 pm UTC (0 Comments)
Thanks to the success of the Humble Indie Bundle (which took in over a million $) the first two games have been Open Sourced. To play them you will still need to buy them, as I understand it the source of the game Engines are free, but not the game itself (so people can fork the engines to make new open-source games or improve the engines for the current games)...

By liamdawe, 9 May 2010 at 2:55 pm UTC (0 Comments)
$610,901 later and 72,791 contributors (at time of writing) the Humble Indie Bundle is a MASSIVE success. A new contributor has emerged as "Amanita Design" but instead of donating dollars and cents they have added a new game to the bundle! Samorost 2 has been added to the bundle, so stop reading this and go to your page and download it! If you haven't yet purchased the bundle then there is still time!
I talked to fellow indies Amanita Design this morning and they would like to contribute to the Humble Bundle too...

GOL Website Updates

By liamdawe, 9 May 2010 at 1:54 pm UTC (0 Comments)
Over the past 2 days I have done some more work for this website to get the feature set a little more complete. Added "lytebox" for screenshots, so when you click on a screenshot it is shown in a pop-up box. Added a "Quote" tag for news posts that will show up now like this:
This is some quoted text!
So when quoting from various news sources it will look a lot nicer (I can also use it wherever I like, for example interviews to quote the persons response) cool eh! Have added an "Unreleased" category to the directory which will list games with a confirmed Linux client, unlike other sites that list games that "may" have a Linux client and get peoples hopes up, I will only list games that you can be sure will have a Linux version available! Much more to come!
