I actually have the GOG version, and when I last played it (long time ago) I thought it was really quite nice!

Will pick up the new Steam version for sure when it arrives on Linux.

Mmm, not quite. I do see what you mean a little, but with the away missions and RPG aspects it's rather different. The base building side however is a tiny bit like it.

This sadly wasn't handled very well their end.

From what I can gather they disabled all codes until their initial birthday sale ends due to traffic, not sure why traffic would make them disable codes, but that's what they're telling me. You are all free to use the codes once the current sale has ended.
