Linux Mint doing a small-form-factor MintBox 3, they don't sound too happy about Snaps

I haven't played with Mint for a long time. Man, that was my first dual-boot choice when I started migrating my general computing and some gaming to Linux. I found messing between Steam and PlayOnLinux and USB WiFi drivers not to be fun on Mint, and I wasn't a fan of the Ubuntu desktop environment back then. I also wanted to get away from major OS upgrades. Anyway, I'm still somewhat fond of the distro. I'll throw LMDE into a VM and take a peek.

Ada: Tainted Soil, a story-driven single-player 2D action-RPG coming to Linux looks really good

I don't think single-player ARPG is for me, but I am impressed by the trailer. Great job showcasing the game and making it look and sound cool.

Paradox Interactive on Linux support, it's being done on a "case by case basis"

Paradox is one of my top developers and publishers. Most of what they've put out that I had interest in worked natively on Linux, including Shadowrun: Dragonfall, which is a very memorable RPG for me. I would be more sad losing Paradox than most other developers or publishers.

Quoting: GuestIt is the first time that the game works for me on Linux out of the box :-) I think before this my java version was always to new for this game and I had to use Proton.
Ah, that happened to me and Rise to Ruins months ago, but it's been good for a while now. :)

Bird by Example is quite possibly the weirdest game I've played in a long time

This is a fun way to see machine learning manifested in a short amount of time. It's a good way to get the concept out to young thinkers. And it's important for the arts (like games) to showcase it because ML is going to drive more and more decisions that will affect our daily lives.

Depends on what you're after. I left Ubuntu after they forced too many UI decisions I didn't like, so Mint was a natural choice for me. Similar look and feel to good old Ubuntu + Gnome.
Debian Testing is also a good choice.
I have to throw out a (huge) caveat: security updates in Testing are not managed by the actual security team [External Link]! To me, that says stay away except for offline development or playing around in a VM. It shouldn't be your daily driver or your server.

Do you have information I don't that makes you comfortable recommending Testing?

Me and dubi [External Link] is ON IT!!!
You know, this is a good prediction I think. It's not ready yet, but in three years? Clear Linux might be one of the top picks. What they've done so far is fun to watch. Imagine a Stadia game ad that says, "Optimized for Clear Linux." Sure, the geeks can make their systems optimized for anything and feel pompous about it, but marketing lines like that do have an effect.

Dota Underlords continues seeing polish as it passes 200K players online

^Interesting. I haven't tried the game out yet, but I have to at some point. I play Dota 2 in spurts. I like it a lot and get kind of addicted until toxic players piss me off a few times, then I'm done for months.

Quoting: gradyvuckovicWhat Canonical pulled was crazy and unreasonable, as was said countless times, if there was a solution then Valve couldn't have been expected to work it out in 3 months. You HAVE to give more warning than that when doing something like dropping all 32bit libraries.
Well, that exaggeration is a little unfair. No one needs to get off Ubuntu 18.04 until 2023 [External Link]. Ubuntu obviously isn't my first choice, but this wasn't a situation that required immediate action. There definitely would have been plenty of time to change plans.
