At least they were open about it and communicated with their fans.

Silent treatment would be a lot worse.

The Stellaris 2.2 update is going to rework planets, plus free content added into some DLCs

Purple Library GuyI never minded the tile system that much but I also was never enthralled by it. This looks like it could be pretty good.
And really, I think it's a bit much for the conversation to be focussing on Paradox's DLCs when this is a major free update--happening how long after the game's release? Yeah, how many of your no-DLC games get that level of support? Frankly, Paradox games are just bigger than most other games. So they end up costing more; this is made more workable by splitting the cost into chunks. But your price per hour of play, your cost per amount of entertainment, on a Paradox game tends to be very competitive.
If you prefer little games that you play through once or twice in a few hours, nothing wrong with that. But that isn't a reason to diss the existence of big games that repay dozens of hours of play on the basis that they cost more than little ones; of course they do.

Totally agree.

Quite cool that they are still supporting it. I jumped into a game randomly the other day and started playing. Total noob really but the commander was good and I just listened to his instructions and we did well.

Probably made some rookie mistakes but nobody was raging at me about it.

Performance has improved a lot, previously it just kept crashing whenever graphics were turned up.

Will have to purchase DLC.

Stellaris: Distant Stars Story Pack and the 2.1 patch are now out

Just bought the previous 2 Apocalypse and Synthetic Dawn on their site. Awesome that they are continuing support with patches and Improving the game.

Don't mind supporting them with DLC as it keeps both them and the game alive.

Looks like they have rocked the boat with the most recent 2.0 patch and changes though.

What are people's thoughts on this?

Something for the weekend: Play ARMA 3 & Day of Infamy for free, many games on sale

What do they play like on linux? Last time I tried Day of Infamy I had all sorts of strange graphical glitches i.e. eyes missing, bush textures missing also.

Interstellar Marines, the once promising FPS is still slightly alive

Still such a shame, all that potential. It is indeed correct that If they had stuck to the original idea it would have been quite a unique experience. That's what originally pulled me in.

Like other's I still hope somehow he can find a way to continue development. I have to give the guy credit for sticking to it under the seemingly insurmountable workload.

What have you been playing and what do you think?

Just upgraded to RX 580 so my options have expanded! Dabbled in some Rust on the GOL server as I am finally able to play it now.

Shadow of mordor, Stellaris and Slime Rancher with the kids.
