I'm a big fan of this game. Own the mobile (Android) and Steam versions. Really happy that it's had a nice content upgrade. The game has a great atmosphere and has plenty of replay value. Survival rogue-like in space.

I think this is the perfect time for a "Rocket League" similar style game to come out from an Indie Developer. Rocket League is already 2 years old. People are ready to move on (if a suitable alternative was out there). It isn't that complicated a game requiring that many people to produce it. The new developers could focus on providing a game which can be played on Community Servers (similar to 7D2D) as well as / instead of Official Servers.

My take on it is that Google want ChromeOS to become the dominant home computer platform. They can only do this if ChromeOS can do everything that Windows or Mac does (i.e. Gaming, ideally AAA gaming.)

Back when Android entered the smartphone market, they were the small guys, and Apple iOS, Windows Phone, Blackberry, and Symbian were leading. Nowadays Android has taken approx 90% of the mobile market, and Apple scrapes most of the remaining 10% (and those other platforms are miniscule now).

I guess it *could* be beneficial to Linux native gaming if a game released for ChromeOS is practically identical to a Linux release, and Google's clout encourages developers to release for ChromeOS (and so might release for Linux too).

But, I'm not especially keen on a company like Google devouring the home computer market, spying on, profiling, and pushing out adverts to all their customers (who have nowhere else to go). "What mobile do *you* use?" -> Android, being the answer in 90% of cases.

Meanwhile, seeing as I'm very keen on this style of game (Picked up Slay the Spire on Early Access and loved it). I found another deck-builder rogue-lite called Fate Hunters [External Link] (currently on sale, 50% discount), which I recommend almost as highly as StS. I picked up Fate Hunters during the Steam Winter Sale, and it's been grabbing my attention (25 hours played thus far). Unlocked each of the playable characters in the game, but haven't yet managed to finish the challenge to unlock Hard Mode.

For me, if Slay the Spire warrants 9 / 10 score, then Fate Hunters warrants 8.5 / 10 score.

I've picked up Islanders [External Link] (50% off), Pathway [External Link] (40-46% off), Fate Hunters [External Link] (50% off), and Captain Forever Remix [External Link] (90% off) in the Steam sale. Very happy with Fate Hunters, which is a similar game to Slay The Spire. Pathway looks improved, compared to its earlier version released earlier in the year (Plus, you can get extra discount if you already own Halfway).

Hoping to generate sufficient Steam Sale Tokens to claim the 5000 token voucher, and then probably use that to get another title.

Irritating for me is that I bought it some time ago (1 year probably) and have such a multitude of games to play, that I haven't even tried it yet (like many other titles). I have slowed down my purchasing frequency in the last year or so.

Looks like it could be a bit like playing a Viking Diablo game, which appeals to me. Being a little bit critical - I think the graphics and animations could be improved, which would add to the appeal.

I'd recommend Dungeon Warfare [External Link] in the Humble sale. Basically it's a Tower Defence game, but quite different to the regular ones. Thoroughly enjoyed playing it and after 56 hours of play, I'm close to completion of all the missions.
