As a big fan of the Serious Sam franchise, I'm very happy to hear about these improvements. Looking forward to playing them again :)

Quoting: TuxeeGot it from the Humble Store. Never played it in the old days - really looking forward to do so now.
Very tempting to get it via Humble store - You get the Steam key and the DRM-free version too.

EDIT:

And got it on Humble for myself.

Looks like a game that might work well with VR.

Survival horror 'Darkwood' is getting ready to leave Early Access

Just checked out that game-play video: It does look good. I will keep an eye on this one.

From the Steam page, it says it is due to leave Early Access in August.

GunHero, a new action platformer styled like Broforce released with Linux support

Speaking for myself, I like AAA titles like Dying Light, Mad Max, Hitman, and so on. BUT I also really like a lot of Pixel Art games. I highly recommend these Pixel Art games:

Broforce, Rogue Legacy, FTL, PixelJunk Shooter, Dungeon Warfare, Mini Thief, Hotline Miami, Kingdom: New Lands, The Curious Expedition, Crypt of the Necrodancer.

Haven't got around to playing Owlboy, Party Hard, Chroma Squad, and others - But I'm sure they're pretty awesome too.

Finishing off with - There are plenty of junk Pixel Art games too - One needs to sift the chaff from the wheat.

Ahhhh.... so tempted.... Tyranny Commander Edition [External Link] is at its highest ever discount - 60% off on GOG.

But.... Maybe wait another year or so, and get the GOTY edition, when that eventually arrives. (I'm not happy buying games and then buying DLC later.)

Still, Tyranny was probably a Day 1 Release for the Linux version, and I think it is well worth supporting developers that give so much love to Linux (Obsidian, Paradox).

Shadow Warrior: Special Edition is currently free on the Humble Store

I played Shadow Warrior (2013) about 8 months ago. Personally I was very happy with game-play. It was quite a linear game, but each level had secrets to hunt out, and the story was reasonable. I did like the differences between the weapons. The Katana and the different ways to use it, did make the game more interesting. It took about 20 hours of play to finish the main story. I also liked the differences between each of the enemies. For me, it was a big upgrade compared to the older 1997 version.

EDIT:

Also, I wonder if giving away Shadow Warrior for free has any bearing on Shadow Warrior 2 - Still looking forward to a Linux port of the new game. Pretty please!

I bought Dungeon Warfare [External Link] for Sale on Steam this week. It is 75% discount (£1.74). It is working on Linux fine for me.

The game is a well-crafted Tower Defence game, in a Dungeon Keeper style setting. I've played it for about 5 hours, and have been thoroughly enjoying it. The various Steam reviews do a good job of describing it.

It is a bit smarter game-play than your average Tower Defence, because you can adjust the flow of the Heroes attacking your Dungeon core, by putting obstacles to force them to go another route. For instance, adjusting their route so that they wander into the tracks of mine-carts, and the mine-carts bear into them.

I'm particularly keen on the Harpoon trap, so far - which you place on the other side of 'bottomless' pits, and when an enemy comes along, it harpoons them, drags them into the pit and down they go.

The Humble Telltale Games Bundle seems to have at least one Linux game coming (updated: nope)

Quoting: g000hWell, out of curiosity I have just activated The Walking Dead: Season 1 [External Link] from my recent $1 Tier purchase, and it has Mac and Windows, but no Linux install - and that includes under the Properties field on Steam client.
That's odd. I have it on steam under SteamOS+Linux section.
Very interesting. I just bought "The Walking Dead" and it only has Windows and Mac icons on Steam:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/207610/The_Walking_Dead/ [External Link]

Noting from this very website GOL Waking Dead link that Walking Dead had a SteamDB Linux Depot, back in February 2017.

So, did they release it to Linux, and then pull it again due to Support or Stability issues (but allowed existing owners to keep it in their accounts)? Or maybe you have access to some sort of hidden beta programme? Is it still going to come to Linux - Anyone spotted SteamDB Depot activity?

Any news on the other Telltale games and whether they might be coming to Linux (eventually)?

Editorial: No, Valve is not killing SteamOS or the Steam Controller

This is one of the problems of the entire internet: Semi-true news. A news story which contains some truth but also contains plenty of misinformation. If anything, this method of writing makes the news more believable to the uninitiated, rather than outright lies which can be easily disproved.

I tend to not believe anything I read or hear in news stories, political mandates, or similar - at least until I've been able to validate the information.
