Humble Choice for December has 14 games including Children of Morta & Overcooked 2

Excellent selection of games this month, I'll certainly be picking it up.

I had a feeling the end of the year would bring better bundles.

I'm interested in Children of Morta, Overcooked 2 and Shining Resonance. The other games are nice additions too, especially One Step From Eden and Indivisible.

This bundle contains plenty of games I was interested in, but I probably would not spring to buy them on their own.

Bundles like this are nice for giving you the opportunity to give it a shot for some games that would otherwise pass your attention.

The Solus Linux team release the Budgie 10.5.2 desktop environment upgrade
3 December 2020 at 11:37 am UTC

The only GNOME component Budgie intends to use going forward is GTK+4.

All the other GNOME components currently in use [in Budgie] are going to be replaced with stuff written from scratch eventually (eg mutter, GNOME control center etc).

So they're not giving up in their independence efforts, they simply opted for GTK+4 instead of Qt.

Also the current desktop icons implementation is not a workaround, it's a from-scratch implementation.

I've been using Solus for over 2 years now (GNOME edition), and I love it. It keeps a nice balance between stability and up-to-date software. My current install is over 1.5years old, that's how stable it is.

As to the article - it has been called semi-rolling, I'm guessing it's referring to the fact that even though Solus is rolling, it opts to have releases instead of simple iso refreshes?

I hope they accept your application.

Lutris imo is the app that takes advantage of GTK to the fullest extent.

It's been awesome to see Lutris evolve so much over the years. The new UI is a big step up from the old one.

I'll be looking forward to seeing it evolve some more in the future. Can't wait to see what Lutris will look like once GTK4 drops.

NVIDIA 450.56.02 Vulkan Beta Driver is out for Linux

It's already available on Solus for users of the unstable repo.

Works great with Red Dead Redemption 2.

What drivers are you using? Afaik the game requires the nvidia-developer-driver atm (v. 440.66.15).

Interviewed - Veloren, an upcoming FOSS multiplayer voxel RPG

Damn, this is a very ambitious project.

Sounds really interesting, I'll have it on my radar.

I must say, the graphics are really nice, especially for a foss project. The shaders create a nice atmosphere.

Wine 4.17 is out with new Mono, support for DXTn compressed textures and more

Quoting: KimyrielleAnyone knows if the newer Origin versions are expected to work again, anytime soon?
Origin works for me, I installed it using Lutris.

There are 2 things that are broken:
* updating games only works for me with Wine 3.21 Protonified
* to update the client you need to run this script (it's already placed in the origin directory if you install it using Lutris), as updating it the normal way doesn't work

While there's no date for the Linux version of Insurgency: Sandstorm, NWI remain committed to do it

Heh, I'm eagerly awaiting the Linux version to release, to buy it.

By the looks of it, though, I'm beginning to doubt if it'll get released this year...

I'm a pessimist though.

Yeah new dependency, mingw for PE files shows configure file at build

Oh, I bet it's for the change in libwine.dll. That would make sense--you just cross-compile them now. Although why would one use WINE dlls on Windows? Wouldn't you use windows dlls on windows?
My guess is it could be used for debugging.
