I had written about GoH in the past, it is a very interesting MMO, with great potential (I think), to be honest its UI and graphics might not be as appealing compared with other AAA (or not) space games of today, but it has many unique ideas. Mainly, it uses the idea that the player does not have a personal avatar, rather (s)he takes control of a corporation and has many agents to do multiple tasks for the corp., hence the game is not purely an RPG, it has RTS elements as well.

In that direction, the game has a feature that allows the player to order ships in the corporation to do some tasks (harvest (that's mining), hunt (that's fight), travel, dock, etc). The "hunting" order was the last to be implemented in the game, but since the last update (or the one before), all orders are available.

The game has been developed in Unity3D, so (of course) it runs on Linux, and it has mobile clients as well.

It is available on Steam. It has no monthly fee, and its price is at $10, which I feel it's totally worth it.

About the game (Official)
Gates of Horizon is a space conquest online game. During your space journey you will gain power over the universe leading fleets, improving and managing crew and assets, taking control of entire sectors with your corporation and fighting the alien menace that threatens the human race.
