The new horror game Syndrome is starting to look really good, the Linux version is confirmed too so here's the new trailer.

I personally spoke to the developer and they said that it works well on both Ubuntu and SteamOS so that's great news.

The game is due out in September.

I think visually it looks good, but I'm not personally sold on the voice actor. They sound a bit weird, a bit too young and roughly done for my tastes in character voices.

I am a sucker for this type of setting, so I am looking forward to giving it a try.

About the game (From the official website)
Syndrome is a survival horror game set in the future, where the player controls a character who wakes up in a spaceship, with no memory of what happened.

The spaceship is adrift in space, and most of the crew is dead or insane. The rest is changed…
You’ll need to survive and find out what’s going on and what happened to the crew. Sometimes the hostiles can be taken out, but most of the times the best strategy is to run and hide.

The game is played in first person view. While exploring, the player can pick up and interact with objects like doors, keypads, computer consoles, drawers, machinery, etc and use weapons (both melee and long range).

The enemy units are powerful and numerous, which means that the player must be stealthy and evade combat when possible. There are weapons aboard the ship, but ammo is very limited. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Yup, this looks very interesting indeed. I´ll almost certainly buy this title probably as soon as it´s released.

Although...I do agree about the voice acting, it´s almost giving me "parody-vibes" like when some kid in a youtube video attempts to imitate an adult of somewhat advanced years. The other two voices aren´t that great either, they sound far too stilted and unnatural given what they are saying. Still, for me voice-acting is mostly of minor importance. In most cases I simply read the subtitles while keeping the sound volume relatively low anyway.

Anyone remember the movie Event Horizon? well this sounds like a game version of the events leading up to the movie, the ship & crew get lost & taken over by "demons" & everyone dies. Sort of anyway, not sure I explained that well enough, but anyone who has seen the movie will understand.

Pandorum the video game.
Looks good but have to agree the voice acting isn't great.
Give the kid a carton of cigarettes and a case of beer and have him re-record in a week.
