Ignite for Linux is still coming!

By - | Views: 13,093
You may remember us reporting on a very good looking Racing game called Ignite coming to Linux...well after unconfirmed reports of the Linux ports demise I have a solid confirmation from the
studio themselves that it is infact still coming!

QuoteThanks for emailing us again Liam. Yes we are still going to release Ignite for Linux, we apologize for the delay. We have been very busy since the initial release of the game. We are a small team and it takes some time to port games. Let us know if we can help with anything else.

Thanks,
Zach

I also got confirmation on who is doing the port
QuoteWe are porting it in house. It is unfortunate that they think we are not porting, as we definitely are! You guys have been extremely supportive in the Linux community and we want to give back. Unfortunately ports can take some time, so all we ask is patience.

Thanks,
Zach Zebrowski

Update - I asked about Desura
QuoteWe would like to but that is something that is up to our publisher, Just-A-Game.

It's not an issue. I was addressing the question from a fellow user GOL about Desura.

What we need is full metal announcements on the main page of the Ignite site. Or would you prefer a repeat of http://games.slashdot.org/story/10/12/17/0937217/unreal-tournament-3-for-linux-is-officially-dead

BTW a game ON Linux http://linuxgamecast.com/forum/general/corebreach-comes-to-linux-for-realsies/#p258

Contact a developer; get a demo. That is a solid and well founded way to find out if they have one.

I agree with you completely that they should put something up on their website but if they currently have nothing solid to show it wouldn't really be worth it.

I will take a look at that game as well cheers :)

Sorry about the necro but for what its worth, Ignite is still coming. I queried them about this and just got the reply stating,

"Yes, we are still planning to bring it to Linux. Right now we are focusing on getting it to iOS as well. Because we are a smaller studio, this is taking us more time than expected to get them all out the door. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a guaranteed time for the Ignite Linux release."
