UPDATE: New host found for around $35 a month far less than my current host wanted, it's been ordered and we will have breif downtime tonight while everything is sent over, keep an eye on our twitter for all further info on this to save news posts. If anyone can help towards the much higher costs to keep us running please click the donate tab up the top, thank you and keep gaming.

So today I got a lovely message from my web host, if you don't have time to read - he jist of it is that the website uses too much CPU due to the forum we use so we have to get a VPS and being unemployed I cannot afford the $75 A MONTH they request from me for it.

So I need options people or in a week the website will probably be gone even though i paid yearly for it on shared hosting.

I need a cheap option which includes
cpanel, php, mysql, multiple domains and emails.

QuoteHello,

After some recent problems with the server s2-london.accountservergroup.com we found that your site is causing some issues due to your site's resource usage. Your site is using too many system resources (CPU time) for a shared-resource server. After gathering further statistics on your account's usage, we have determined that you are within the top 5% of CPU usage on our shared fleet.

This amount of usage is far too much for shared hosting and will need to be reduced; we are allowing a week for corrective actions to be taken. If the usage is not reduced below the top 5% of CPU usage your account will need to be moved to a VPS package, as it is not fair to allow one account to usurp usage and disrupt the quality of service in a shared environment. We have compiled the following statistics below showing your account resource usage compared to the average account resource usage.

Your account: 43.26 CPU minutes per day
95th percentile: 29.26 CPU minutes per day
Average usage: 4.67 CPU minutes per day

Based on our audit, we believe our VPS2 plan should be suitable for the traffic your sites receive and their resource usage. This plan costs $75.50/month within our London datacenter and comes with dedicated resources for your account. This ensures that your site performs as you would expect it while not affecting other users on the server. You can view more about our VPS plans at the following URL:

http://www.site5.com/vps/normal/

If you opt to move to a VPS solution, our support staff will handle the migration of your account at no extra charge and the migration should be seamless with little that needs to be done on your end. We will provide you with instructions if changes are necessary on your end (e.g. updating name servers if applicable).

Scanning our logs on your account further, it seems that the majority of the usage is coming from your XenForo installation. We suggest that you optimize the software to run as efficiently as possible to use the least amount of resources.

Please let us know if you have any question or concerns, or if there is anything else we can help with. We will follow up in a week to check the resource usage again under the account and update you on the status.

Thanks,

Andrew Stevenson

don't ignore that Liamdawe :) there is really nothing wrong with getting some funding from the site since you host it, own it and run it :) you can buy more games, make more reviews etc. etc. :)

Sorry it blanked from me while replying.

I will be looking into maybe some google ads since they are generally quite trustworthy with ads never had a problem with adsense before. I prefer donations to keep as ad free as possible though!

Speaking of which, I should really get back to working on some more reviews for you Liam. I have quite a few started, just need to get at least one of them finished.

When my fever goes down. Ugh...

I suggest making a monthly donations bar so people will know how much more you need and maybe add some extra.
I remember seeing such bar on programmers website who said that if he had 4k donations a month then he will release all his software as free source.
Strangely enough, he got the donations for a few months.
