Terraria unnoficially on Linux with MonoGame

By - | Views: 33,734
Terraria a once widely popular 2D game can be played on Linux natively using a couple neat tricks, sad the developers don't do this for us themselves.

Thanks to a forum user called "jesyspa" and his friend they worked on a Mono version which can be found here, someone else now though has updated it here to use MonoGame 3 which apparently makes it work a lot better too!

This is all unofficial and you need the "content" folder from an official purchased install, shame the actual developers won't release a Linux version but the community can.

Couldn't get into Terraria myself, seems very much like Minecraft in 2D (from my very limited experience with it anyway). Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Just curious, have you contact the Terraria developers to see about a possible port to Mono?
Not a full port, but it's better than no Linux support.

Unless official native port for Linux come I do not buy Terraria. But this is good new for those who already brought this game.
