Monsters is a 2D action shooter inspired by the classic arcade game Robotron 2084. Wielding “twin stick” controls, the player aims to defeat waves of enemy monsters bent on his destruction.

There's a preview available for download on the game's website [External Link]. I tried it the other day and I enjoyed it very much. Gameplay strongly reminded me of The Binding of Isaac but, contrary to that one, Monsters! runs smooooooothly on Linux.
