Our Linux Game Release Calendar Is Now Live

By - | Views: 16,259
I've worked over the last few days in my coding cave to bring a new feature, a release calendar for Linux games!

You can find it here: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/index.php?module=calendar

Edit: Now with more ical: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/calendar_ical.php, tested with my own google calendar and works well.

This isn't the final design or feature list for it, and it will continue to evolve with the rest of the website.

If you click Submit Game on the page (only shows if you're logged in), you can send in games for us to add in it. It will slide down a little content section for you. We will manually approve all new entries of course to prevent spam submissions.

We currently only go back to 2014, but I may add in more previous years for historical purposes if wanted by many.

There's also the new block for it on the right hand side of the website, which will even tell you how many are still due each month.

If you have any general suggestions for it, fire away. Keep them sane please.

Thanks to our server admin Levi for some debugging, and thanks to editor flesk for adding some more games on top of my initial additions. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

This is great. Could you publish this also as an ical link, so that people can add it to their calendar applications and see it directly in it?

Good job Liam. What an awesome addition to GOL!

This is an excellent feature!!

Yeah, this is great! It's pretty hard to find what games are coming out and the "best guess" thing is even more great (probably the best feature), because obviously you won't find that kind of information on Steam or GOG or whatever.

Is the release calendar thingy (widget?) on the right-hand side of the page going to show games released on the day you're looking at it? Because that would also be very cool.

GoL is hands down the best Linux site there is, just sayin'.

Awesome addition Liam!

I can foresee a future in which Liam and GoL will be worshipped for how innovating the GoL's concept was (Is).
This is the first site that works just like the OS we love, collaboratively.

Keep being awesome GoL, we'll grow with the linux gaming community and hopefully in the future we'll be a godamn monster.

Peace!

I second this, my thoughts exactly.

Maybe a big note to the side of the entry as to whether or not it's been released as "Early Access", as I found at least one while perusing the current list.

I think it's broken. I don't see GTA V on there.
Other than that, however, I love it. It's a really nice addition. Maybe some developers will want to add their own games in future.
