Firewatch has me excited, as it seems to offer an interesting story and some quite striking visuals. Anyone else excited? Not many games outright stun me like this game, I imagine I will stream a good bit of it at release.

Confirmation from their blog post:
QuoteCircle February 9 on your calendar, gather your friends, and put your camping trips on hold: Firewatch is coming to Windows, Mac, Linux, and PlayStation 4. At the same time!

They are still working on all aspects of the game, and we will hear more about it nearer the release.

About the game (Official description)
In Firewatch you play as a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched high atop a mountain, it’s your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe. An especially hot, dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor, a woman named Delilah, is available to you at all times over a small, handheld radio — and is your only contact with the world you've left behind.

But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the world, you’ll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making interpersonal choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

This game looks so neat. I'll definitely pick it up. I saw the trailer back during E3, but didn't realize it was coming to Linux too.

Interesting.

Graphics look like a mix of TF2 and Borderlands2/TPS, which are all great linux games.

Quoting: GuestI’ve been following their blog for a while, and the game sure looks good, but I still have no idea what the gameplay will be like. Walking simulator? First person puzzler? Action? Adventure?
I wasn't sure about that either. At first I thought this was another survival game (of which there seem to many right now).

Great!

The walkie talkie voices strongly remind me of "The Dig". :)

I feel the same way. Visually it's striking and we know it's first person perspective, but beyond that, how does it play? What do you do? Is there combat? Is there stealth? Are there puzzles? Is it mostly exploration?

If I had to guess, going on what I saw in the video, I'd say walking simulator, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. People tend to use that as a derogatory term, but I can totally be down with a walking simulator provided the story is interesting enough and/or there are plenty of interesting places to explore off the beaten path.

I hope it's not another survival game. Lord knows we have enough of those already.

The woman reminds me a lot of the woman's voice in Q.U.B.E. She even says "the isolation gets to people" which is almost verbatim something that's said in Q.U.B.E.
