A fellow from Nordic Games has commenting about the disappearance of the announced Darksiders and Darksiders II Linux ports.

See the forum post here, copied below:
QuoteThe Darksiders 1 port is actually 98% done with only some bugfixing left. Unfortunately it remained in this state for a while as we had to focus on other things.

For Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition we have a Linux port on our list but cant give a timeframe right now.

This was emailed in quite a number of times, but they key thing here is they haven't forgotten about it. Sadly though, it doesn't seem like it's being picked up any time soon either.

They have probably been far too busy with the newer Darksiders 2 Deathinitive Edition, so once that's out and finished maybe we will see them re-focus on the Linux ports of Darksiders 2 and Darksiders. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

If the game would be 98% finished it would be already released. The problem is that it is 98% of state that they would consider acceptable, not 98% of golden game.
I have spent some time while playing Deadfull Adventures ported by Leszek Godlewski (former porting guy in Nordic games). Port is cool, respect to him, but load time of the game and menu behaviour are something that shouldn't be released. And I guess (assuming that Darksiders finds it's way to Linux) it won't be better here.

In fact he didn't get to finish the port before leaving Farm 51...

I swear this port is the Linux equivalent of Duke Nukem Forever....except even if it is a broken mess it will still be considerably better.

I do have to say though, that I have been waiting for this since it's original announcement by Leszek a couple of years back. It is one of those games that really went under the radar with a lot of people which is a shame since it is almost a Zelda game for non-nintendo systems.

I really enjoyed it on 'Doze

i've owned both games, just never really got into the 2nd one enough even though it seems a lot better than the first one just because it has a little bit more of an open world and a RPG aspect to it. I might give the 1st one another go if it lands on Linux. If the ports turn out good, then I might have to figure a way to donate to the Linux port.
Because I hope they will port Darksiders 2 so it will give me a good reason to try and give it a good play through. I guess it could work well enough on wine, but I'd rather test the Linux port :)

I stopped to play this game in Window$ a year ago when I knew that this game was being ported. Perhaps in near future I would continue it in Linux. The first one are a great game. If this port is good, I will buy the second, sure!
