Wine 1.8-rc1 Released

By - | Views: 8,213
It didn't take the Wine team long, but Wine 1.8-rc1 is already available to bring some polish along for the big Wine 1.8 release.

They fixed a total of 54 bugs, and no new features as promised as they are working towards a stable release for the first time in quite a while.

You can see the full info on the fixes right here. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

Completly agreed

For wine shows actual DX9 state has been past around 5 to 6 years, for DX11 shows mature state maybe needed around 3 years

Without forget native games have more and more importance*, for this reason maybe better idea polish DX9** and before without forget other issues related with input and sound

* This is native games moment and new games*** must be have many possibilities for can be ported

** Because many of this games dont be ported

***Excluding EA and others without interest in linux

^_^

Well, I tried Starpoint Gemini 2 in WINE 1.8-rc1, a DirectX 11 game, and no go.
